BMI Chart for Women

The BMI chart for women is the same one used by men and teens. The mathematical formula that calculates BMI is a person's weight in kilograms divided by height in meters, squared. In order to make it easier to calculate BMI, many possible variations of height and weight have been entered into a BMI chart for women as well as men.

BMI Chart for Women: An Overview

The BMI chart for women is the same BMI used by men, children, and teens. Therefore, there is not a specific BMI chart for women.

BMI uses a mathematical formula that takes into account both a person's height and weight but not gender. The BMI formula calls for dividing a person's weight in kilograms by his or her height in meters, squared (BMI=kg/m2). To make it easier to calculate a person's BMI, many possible variations of height and weight have been entered into a BMI chart. This same BMI chart can be used by anyone, regardless of gender, race, or ethnicity.

BMI Chart for Women

Below is the BMI chart for women, as well as men, that can be used to determine BMI. This BMI chart can be used by anyone who is at least 58 inches tall (4'10") and weighs at least 91 pounds. A woman can also figure out her BMI by going to the BMI Calculator.

(To calculate body mass index for people shorter than 58 inches and/or lighter than 91 pounds -- such as children -- see BMI Formula.)

To use the BMI chart, find the appropriate height (in inches) in the left-hand column labeled Height. Move across to a given weight (in pounds). If you do not find your weight on the first chart, please consult the following table. The number at the top of the column is the BMI at that height and weight. Pounds have been rounded off.
